The Brief
Ocaña is an iconic institution in Barcelona’s historic Plaça Reial—a living tribute to the transgressor artist José Pérez Ocaña, where bohemian glamour, high gastronomy, and nightlife culture converge. The objective was to capture the venue's visual essence across its culinary offering, intricate interior details, and distinct atmospheric energy.
The Approach & Creative Collaboration
To mirror Ocaña’s rich texture and historic weight, I led the creative and art direction in close collaboration with a guest photographer, building a visually immersive narrative around the space:
Visual & Art Direction: Curated the aesthetic framework, framing, and mood board—focusing on warm, ambient lighting, rich material textures, and intimate table compositions.
Gastronomy & Detail Framing: Directed the visual presentation of signature dishes and cocktails, capturing the craft and obsession with detail that defines their culinary identity.
Atmosphere & Storytelling: Documented the fluidity of the venue—bridging the transition from warm evening dining to the nocturnal magnetic energy that turns every dinner into a event.
